The number of French tourists in Bulgarian seaside resorts has gone up by 15% in comparison to last year, Ivan Stanchov, chairman of the Managing Board of the Alliance Francaise – Varna, told Focus – Varna Radio at the opening ceremony of the a new francophone center in the Bulgarian seaside city. The ceremony was attended also by France’s ambassador to Bulgaria Etienne de Poncins. “Over 100,000 French tourists visited Bulgarian Black Sea resorts during the last tourist season. Their number has surged this year. What is interesting about French tourists is that besides beach fans, they also like the so-called ‘cultural tourism’,” Stanchov added.
