From blondie From Norway, sent on 04 December 2002 Hi, I went to Bulgaria with my family this summer, and it was great! I went to Iceberg almost every night, and I got to know some peole I will never forget.. The beach was great, the food was good and the people were terrific. It was the best vacation ever, and we're going back next year. By I do not recommend the hotel Chrysanthema, I mean, the staff were nice and very helpful, but it wasn't too much too do there. And if you like to sing, there is a great karaoke-bar there, called Elaine's Karaoke. I went there every day, did a song, then cariied on to Iceberg. It's fun for every age, that's really true.. I MISS SUNNY BEACH! If anyone gor any questions, just mail me.. |

From David Young From UK, sent on 07 November 2002 my family and i went to sunny beach, bulgaria this year(first two weeks in july).we stayed at a hotel called the sever/yug...don't be confused by this,it's just one medium sized hotel with two names, and these names aren't even on the front of the hotel. the hotel wasn't that good,if i'm being honest about itthe food that the hotel served up wasn't up to three star standards(i was ill for the first two days, which i put down to the food),my father in law was also ill, though not at the same time.the menu didn't cater too wll for children either,my eight year old son,Jamie ended up eating chips for a fortnight, having said that, we ate out most nights and found the food in restaurants too be really good(you should try and find"The Condor" so cheap,so good) the rooms didn't have air con. either which is essential in the hot nights of bulgaria,we had some very uncomfortable nights even with the veranda door open.the rooms were also in need of some decoration..although the maids did come round every day,and the rooms were very clean the pool was excellent, and big enough for the amount of people at the hotel, the man in charge of the pool was vey proud of his pool and kept it very clean, there is also a small pool for toddlers there are some wonderful hotels in sunny beach,The Grand,The Saturn,The Globus and the newly built and gorgeous Neptun(no e)which is where we are going next year i would recommend bulgaria to anyone, the beach is indeed sunny, very warm most of the time, the people are very freindly, they cant do enough for you.you have probably heard how cheap bulgaria is...well its true you can get a bottle of beer for 25p,yes 25p..i would stick to Kamenitza i've tried the rest..for your benefit..and Kamenitza is the best All in all..go to bulgaria, you will have a great time....just don't go to the sever/yug [email protected] |

From Emma From England, sent on 07 October 2002 was my first time in bulgaria went for 2 weeks w/c 2nd sep stayed at sunrise club, sunny beach.Sunny beach had lots of things to merit it, we were unfortunate as the weather was very hit and miss and both myself and my partner had upset stomachs from the second day.Anyway back to PLUS POINTS:-The hotel was lovely very friendly more of an apartment feel to it lovely rooms, only brits staying here(nothing against you germans but you can be hostile and you are obsessive with putting your towels on the sunbeds at 3am!!)all bulgaria is cheap which is fab as you don't have to penny pinch and its great when making new friends as you can afford to get the drinks in!I found the locals to bee 97% a very friendly bunch of people but a warning if you are going to sunris There is a receptionist called Helga, she is bony with dyed red bobbed hair, she always wore a navy troser suit when we were there, she is a right WITCH! everyone commented on her rudeness, she was abrupt, and constantly told people the pool table and electronic dart board were broken so they couldnt use them, 5 mins later when she went on her break they were working again, this happened all the time. One day I went to pay my phone bill and as she was counting money I smiled and stod back patiently to be greeted by"WHAT????!!" IN A VERY UNFRIENDLY TONE.She orderded me to return in half an hour because, guess what the computer was broken. When I returned later, the other, pleasant receptionist told me the computer was never out of order. Anyway the point is all the bar staff and waiters and waitresses who work much harder were never anything but polite and always had a smile, thats why they got good tips, Helga my tip to you would be get a personality transplant! |

From Zorana Kalapis From Yugoslavia, sent on 29 September 2002 We visited hotel KAVKAZ this summer. The hotel is great, everything is new and the breakfast was more than enough for both us and our children. Sunny Beach is interesting but we had a lot of problems with hospitality in some restaurants. The stuff was not allways so polite, with no reason. Beside that, the food in restaurants is cheap and tastefull. Also, in my opinion maybe it will be better to have more places for youngs to go out, some clubs or discos. |
