Sorry, There Are No Comments On Sunny Beach Resort    (510)

my partner and I went to sunny beach to get drunk every night and party, party, party. what a disapointment we got. it was crap what a waste of two weeks, we were gutted. firstly it should be called cloudy beach, not sunny beach, there is a constant breeze which is welcome during the day but not on a night, it sometimes got quite nippy, so girlies take your bras with you. Food is ok if you can live on pork or chicken for a fortnight and is very dry, no gravy. People we saw were living off the hot dog and pizza stands along the front just to survive. hardly nowhere had kids menus and the local beer, though very cheap was alcohol free i think and just bloated you. disco orange was unreal, we thought we needed to get to a nightclub and we could let our hair down and start having fun, er nope. full of posers, girls with perfectly straightened hair and perfect make up, trying desperatly not to crease their clothes, fellas stood there trying to look cool and basically everyone eying each other up to see what people were wearing, honestly it was that bad.the only people who will be bothered by this comment are the people who go to disco orange to pose and be a live mannequin.every single restaurant in the bloody resort has live music in them, ie a man on keyboard with a man on guitar singing crap like "delilah". we did find one which had a band in who were pretty good, they sang oasis , robbie, travis as well as a few oldies and everyone seemed to enjoy the elvis singer there too when he came on for his spot, food was ok there too, it was a shame it all stopped at midnight as did the kareoke bar did round the corner where we had a few laughs.tropicana restaurant was ok too, but that had live music too. two of the beach bars on the front were busy, the rest were dead, empty, music blaring out but no one in them. tons of steak houses but you get sick if eating meat, try the fat cat if you like a good curry and theres a lively bar next door. so basically we found about 3 good places to eat and about three decent bars in a fortnight, and we did look. we like a good laugh and a bit of banter with the waiters and bar staff on holiday as it makes your holiday doesnt it? not at sunny beach, they are not interested, they take your order, serve you, take your money when you have finished, no chit chat nothing. there are kiddies bungee jumps and bouncy castles dotted about the resort. the sea is full if jellyfish right up to the shore on the sand. its worth parasailing for 45lv just to see the hundreds of thousands of jellyfish. 40 lv to jet ski for 15 mins. 5lv to have your photo taken with the bear in the seafront, with your own camera that is, felt sorry for the bear , ring through its nose, pink bow on its head being paraded around and given a slice of pizza to eat now and again. you can also have your photo taken with snakes or crocs whom have their mouths taped up, the crocs that is. there are kiddies bout 5 year old playing violins at sides of road for money and ladies who sit on the kerbs clutching a small child holding out a cup for money, this can be up to 2 in the morning! poor kids they need to be in bed. Overall, it didnt seem two bad the first couple of days till we realised we been round the full resort in them days . Maybe we have been spoilt on previous holidays, all we wanted was a laugh and we were bored. sunny beach was crap, the food was crap and the people were crap. never again, back to altinkum turkey next year where you cannot fail to have fun. goodbye bulgaria and good riddance.

Hotel Amfora beach, Sunny Beach, Bulgaria.
On first appearance this hotel was basically clean and pleasant, away from the noisier main resort of Sunny Beach.
The hotel itself was in a great place close to a lovely beach, although the beach was extremely busy and could cost an arm and a leg when you added up how much you spent overall on sunbeds and umbrellas. The 'wardens' of the beach would move people on if you didnt pay for these.
The hotel restaurant was complete chaos with no organisation at all sharing at the time when we visited in August 2005 with the adjoining Imperial Hotel. The food got very boring but if you like chicken and pork cooked in every way imaginable thats fine. We did eat out quite a few times Zefir Restaurant which is right opposite Amfora is lovely and really cheap, the staff are friendly and made you very welcome.
The rooms are basic and generally clean but be sure to take your own towels as the ones that are supplied take a lot to be desired.
Leaving your balcony doors open at night time is really not a good idea if you want any sleep not because of mosquitoes but because of the continual 'boom boom' from a bar/disco close by this began at about midnight and lasted until around 7.30am.
The lovely man that changes your money, Zevno, is the most pleasant and friendly person there he always has time to talk and always has a smile, he was a pleasure to talk to.
Although the Hotel was a definate no no to visit again we made the most of our time there and made some really good friends. I cannot say that we wouldnt visit Bulgaria again because the land is lovely and green it just wouldnt be to Sunny Beach.

WACH OUT WITH THE MONEY EXCHANGE OFFICES

it a big problem all over bulgaria in front of the offices is a very good exchange rate and when you go inside you will find, after you change the money, that the change rate is the worst rate you've ever seen. The ideea is that on the paper in front of the offices is writen with bulagrian letters " the rates of national bank " not their change rate and inside on some wall there with very small letters is written the real value.

All the rest is absolutely perfect, sunny beach is the most wonderful place you can find in the eastern europe. by the way, the food is very very good.
