Location: Albena is located 30 km from the town of Varna and 12 km from Balchik resort in the northeastern Bulgaria.

Albena is situated at a picturesque and ecologically clean gulf on the Black Sea coast, famous for its flower gardens.

The climate and the beach: Albena is a Blue Flag winning resort. The resort is remarkable for its 5-km long and 150 m wide beach with fine and clean sand and crystal clear, calm and warm sea water.

The tourist season in Albena lasts from May till October, when the use of the sea and the beach is guaranteed.

The average annual temperature is around +12°C. Air temperature in the summer is over 25°C and often reaches 29-32°C. The temperature of sea water in June, July, August, and September is around 22-25°C. In the third week of may it reaches 20°C, while at the end of October it gradually drops down to 15-16°C.

Mineral water: Mineral water in Albena is with temperature 30°C, slightly mineralised, hydro carbonated, containing magnesium, calcium, sulphurous oxide compounds: 2.2 mg/I and free hydrogen sulphide with pH 7.39 and discharge of 2580I/min. Curative firth mud highly mineralised: 65.8 g/kg, calcium - 1.1 g/kg, magnesium - 3.6 g/kg and sodium - 18.0 g/kg. It contains hydrogen sulphide - 0.6 g/kg and biologically active substances, biogenetic stimulants, trace elements - iodine, copper, strontium, molybdenum and manganese.

Accommodation: The resort hotels are located in a natural environment, either right on the beach or on the nearby hills, offering panoramic views of the sea. There are about 43 hotels, 5 holiday villages and 1 campsite.

Bars and restaurants: Albena offers a lot of restaurants, taverns, cafes, fast food outlets, clubs and bars. There are different types of cuisine – Bulgarian, Italian, Chinese, Indian, etc.

Entertainment: Albena offers a few SPA centres with highly qualified medical staff, different kinds of SPA and medical procedures and treatments.

Varied cultural programs - International Children's Fest, Golden Antenna Festival of Musical and Entertainment TV Programs, Pop-rock festival, Coast of Hope Festival.

Transport: The Bus station is located about 10 minutes outside of the center of Albena which take you to such resorts as Golden Sands, Dobrich, Balchik, etc.

Albena's 'Little Train' is a wonderful way to get around the area. It goes right through Albena in two different routes.
