Tourism has grown 12 per cent in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort Sozopol in the first half of 2007 year-on-year. Accommodations in Sozopol exceed 50 000 beds, and 90 per cent of them have been already booked, Focus news agency reported. In addition to Bulgarian tourists, Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian and Polish tourists also visited Sozopol this year. Currently, the greatest number of tourists to Sozopol come from Scandinavian countries and the UK. The number of tourists from Serbia and Moldova decreased in the 2007 season due to visa-related problems. The volume of tourists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia has increased this year. Tourists from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine were not affected by issues related to visas. Accommodation in Sozopol varies in price between 30 and 120 leva per night. Tour operators expect to have more tourists in September than June of this year.
