(---.bb.sky.com) posts : 1363 Date : 09-02-10 14:23 Hi all, Had a great holiday in Ravda, thanks to all of you for suggesting some new places. We spent the day at the Royal hotel in Elenite, it was fabulous! My children enjoyed the water park and helping themselves to the buffet style lunch and dinner. Did the other two water parks Nessebar and Sunny beach, my vote always goes to the Nessebar water park!. Spent a day in the Emerald in Ravda(they were kind enough to offer us a free pass for the day). Unfortunately could not be the pirate cruise as kids now need to be 7 yrs plus. Had lovely meals out in a number of Bulgarian resturants however we did opt for dinner at an Indian called mind the step in Sunny beach!, great meal. Our only downside was going to the English restaurant/bar in Ravda. We say there for 15 minutes whilst they completely ignored us. In the end we had no choice but to up and leave. It wasnt even busy, one waitress sat folding napkins around knives and forks!! Never again!! Give me a bulgarian restaurant anytime, they cant do enough for you. |

(---.bb.sky.com) posts : 584 Date : 09-02-10 14:39 Hi Caz. when you say the english bar restaurant I take it you mean the boat just opposite the bus stop, glad to hear that you have the same feeling about this place that we have we first tried this place the year they took over from what had been a very good Bulgarian bar/rest and were more than dissapointed the service was terrible as were the people who own it we took some Bulgarian friends to it and discovered it had been taken over our friends were more than surprised that they could not even understand basic bulgarian and nothing on the menu was anything like worth paying for we left fairly quickly never to return, although many other posters on this site swear by the food and the Doncaster family who own the place. |

(---.bb.sky.com) posts : 1363 Date : 09-02-10 19:07 Yes, thats the place. I think they are fine with their regulars but can be funny with people that dont eat often in their restaurant. I have had two other groups of people that say they will not eat in there again due to poor service. One friend of mine said it was obvious they wanted her party to leave as they were putting the chairs up to close up whilst they were still finishing their meal !!! |

(92.26.179.---) posts : 29 Date : 09-03-10 00:34 THE BOAT ...We went there May 2009 for the first time on our wedding anniversary. They made no effort whatsoever to make our night special. The food was basic and very expensive ,they ordered a taxi for us , who also ripped us off ( we only paid half of what he asked , still far too much) and he made the evening very unpleasant.The most expensive night out in all our times in Bulgaria, so it goes without saying Never, never again. |
