Sorry, There Are No Comments On Marina Grand Beach Hotel In Golden Sands    (15)

I had a 10 nights stay in this hotel, 30.07-09.08.2007.
A few good things about this hotel:
-very spacious rooms (incl. bathroom, balcony)
-very clean hotel, incl. rooms and restaurants
-good and various meals
-very friendly and pro staff
-...including the room-cleaning girls; even there is no need to "bribe" them to clean your room (they do their job VERY GOOD, trust me), if you have kids just give those girls 5 or 10 levas (it's nothing .. 2.5 or 5 EUR); I did that (2 or 3 times) and for the rest of the holiday my son found on the bed some towel-made figures (swans, boats, crocos), even small chocolates ... and that's a good thing. The kids are smiling !!
-EXCELLENT location : in the south area of Golden Sands, which is the most quiet area (let's remember : GS is a noisy resort !)
right on the beach, spledid sea-view; as a matter of fact, walking through the GOLDEN SANDS, I couldn't find another hotel better located and better looking (it's my sincere opinion)
-you can rent the refrigerator (if you don't need room-minibar), it's 60 leva for 10 days; this way you can fill the refrigerator with all what you want, and not all they want(let's say you have small kids; they need juice, milk, fruits etc; the minibar offers beer and whisky ... :))
-even there are 5-6 restaurants near teh hotel, you will not be disturbed by live or noisy music; they know how to respect people.

Now, a few BAD things that I wouldn't expect, in a 5 star hotel :
-incredible thin walls; you can easily hear the discussions from your neighbourhood, in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround (... in cloudy days, it could be also DTS Surround, 'cos everybody stays in the rooms)
-I stayed in room 8826; the bathroom fan was not working, and in the morning I sensed some smells in my bathroom; I noticed that to the DESK, they said they will solve, but the smell remained (there are 2 possibilities : it wasn't solved, or the fan was to lazy, for covering a 10 sqm bathroom...)
-try to NOT book on 8th floor (rooms 8813-8830), especially on the corridor walking to the SKY BAR; 'cos you will have all night long drunk people walking on the corridor, laughing it loud, smashing the doors etc.
-besides, we heard all night long a banner ("SKY BAR"), beaten by the wind, and smashed to some metallic bars that surrounds the bar; I wouldn't expect that.
-again, besides all these, in the morning you will find on your balcony some various stuff from the people that drunk and party last night in the SKY BAR : peanuts, chewed chewing gum, cigarettes and cigar-ashes
-...and that's because the balcony ceiling of the 8-th floor rooms is NOT covering the entire balcony, but only half of it.
-you have NO PRIVACY on the room balconies; the wall between them are glass made (you can see what you neighbour's doing), and, in evening time, suddenly a light in each balcony turns ON and cannot be switched off by the guest; of course, this gives a very beautiful light-effect of the hotel ... but better those bulbs could be placed BETWEEN the balconies, and NOT in the balcony (this way a small privacy could be obtained); but, if you have thoughts of having a romantic evening, beaten by the sea-wind, in the balcony ... well ... forget about it ...

Well, after all, I guess I was not lucky.
Don't misunderstood me : I ENJOYED my stay in this hotel.
But there are some things that you wouldn't expect in a 5 star hotel.

Should I come back here ?
Oh yes.
Those a few bad things couldn't affect my son's smile ... he's only 5 years of age.

So, Marina Grand Beach is a very beautiful place to stay, no matters if you have children or not.

... should I recommend this hotel ?
It depends of what you need ; I enjoyed it for incredible seaview, quiet out-side environment, cleanliness, beach location (first line).

Go there.

I went to Marina Grand on the 21st Sept 2006 and was most inpressed with the hotel and the surrounding area. Marina is in the middle of the night life and the market. (watch out for the beggers and gypsies!!) The night life is ace and has everything for every age apart from young children. The hotel in its self is fantastic but be prepared for cold food, but when it is hot it is nice. There was no hotel entertainment what so ever and in the brochure it said there was, we went to the clubs and bars anyway, bar i would recommend - Muppets Bar, its a karaoke and dancing bar its full of english having a great time!! The staff at marina grand in The sky bar and Messanine Bar are fantastic and the waiters are lovely in the restaurant, the men who sign you in at tea are quite rude and the reception staff arent the best. Overall the holiday was fantastic and i would go back there purely on the night life and yes it is as cheap as it says, 60p a pint! Ј1:00 for a big glass of white wine!!
Don't be fooled by the complimentry meal they give you if they give you one!!!!

We stayed in the marina grand the first two weeks in July and it was fabulous - we had such a lovely time and the hotel was lovely - (entertainment - we did not have any of this in the hotel - apart from kids club!) but everything else soon made up for it and there is plently do to in golden sands - it would be good for the hotel to have some shows etc in the hotel for those nights you just want to stay in your hotel

We stayed at Marina Grand Beach hotel 19-26 July 06. We had a fabulous holiday. Food was excellent, accommodation was first class with beautiful views from the balcony of our spacious apartment. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and polite (can't be easy dealing with so many demanding and challenging holiday guests). Would certainly recommend this hotel and plan to holiday here again in the future.
