Primorsko

Location

The town of Primorsko is situated on a small peninsula in the southeastern part of Bulgarian Black sea coast, 52 km south of Bourgas, 450 from Sofia. Ropotamo and Dyavolska reka rivers run close to the town. The Snake Island reserve is located also nearby. Primorsko is a climate sea resort. It is a center of the youth tourism.

Beach and climate

The climate in Primorsko is temperate-continental with Black Sea and Mediterranean influence. The summer tourist season lasts from May till October. The average temperature in July is 27° - 33°C.

There are 4 beaches near the town of Primorsko – central, northern, southern and Perla beach.

The site is covered with bushes and broad-leaved trees. It is actually a park with many alleys among beech forest. In 1998 the town of Primorsko received the prestigious Blue Flag award - a recognition of the purity of the nature in the region.

Accommodation in Primorsko is available in hotels of different categories, small family hotels, hotel complexes, villas and rooms in private houses. There are student dorms and campgrounds as well.

Bars and restaurants

The restaurants in Primorsko serve traditional Bulgarian and international meals and fish dishes. Many of them offer live music. There are small cafes and discos opened all night long.

Entertainment

4 sanctuaries, 10 mound necropolises and 12 dolmens were found near Primorsko.
The biggest megalith sanctuary discovered so far from the ancient Thracian times can be seen 5 km north of the city. Maslen Nos cape with beautiful nature is located 6 km southeast of Primorsko.

Ropotamo, one of the largest Bulgarian natural reserves, is located in close proximity to Primorsko. Ropotamo reserve is world famous for its rare plants and birds. On the territory of the reserve there are many splendid natural sites, such as the Arkutino swamp, the firth of the Ropotamo river, dense forests, various rock formations, marshlands, wetlands, etc. Boat trips are offered along the river.

Sport

The beaches of Primorsko resort offer various attraction facilities – a volleyball playground, fitness, water ski, surfing, pedal boats, scooters, boat trips, children’s facilities.
