2 mln. Year-old Tusks Found in Pomorie Resort, BulgariaBeachBulgaria, 11 Jan 2007
A real jaw and tusks from mastodon, a predecessor of the mammoth were found on the seacoast of Pomorie sea resort. The analysis from the laboratory in Sofia showed that the remains are from a mastodon, which used to inhabit those lands 1.7 million years ago. The experts calculated that the length of the tusks used to reach approximately three metres of length. The intresting find will be exhibited in one of the halls of the balneohotel, whichi is to be built near the findings.
